First Impression

Gibraltar Sports would benefit from a more inviting home page; the one they currently use features little more than a list of its attributes, some contact information and a sidebar listing its gaming options (and even this is not entirely clear. I had a difficult time locating the racebook). In addition, there is nothing that serves as an incentive for a finicky online gambler to stop here; no contests, promotions or loyalty program advertised, no pictures of scantily-clad women (hey, we're in the Maxim era of online gambling, right?) and no other stimulating visual graphics that help take the edge off of losing one's money.

When you click on the sports wagering button on the sidebar at Gibraltar Sports , you're transferred to a page that features nothing but a list of sports. Whereas other websites pack these pages with odds and propositions, Gibraltar Sports has none of these. You can almost hear Jack Webb from Dragnet taking off his hat, fixing you with a steely gaze and saying "Just the facts, ma'am." Your typical online gambler wants spice in the form of handicapping tips and fun proposition bets and will most likely be unenthused by a more businesslike approach to his or her favorite wagering topics.

The casino also lacks depth, featuring little more than the standard games offered at most other online gambling sites (roulette, craps, poker, blackjack, slots). They do offer a free play option, which is common but hardly standard at other online gambling sites.

One interesting option that Gibraltar Sports does offer is an online forum, which is a chatroom where its members get together to compare handicapping tips, sportsbook odds, etc.

Gibraltar Sports clearly has its fans, but this reviewer is not one of them. With a decent variety of casino games and an online sportsbook and racebook, Gibraltar Sports gives the online gambler just enough options to wager his or her money, but not so many so as to inspire long-term loyalty.
